The Franchise Opportunity

The first Hip Pocket store was opened by Hugh Norris in 1993 and the group is now one of the fastest growing destination retailers of Workwear and Safety in Australia and in 2008 opened a store in PNG. Our proven business model and store format is setting a new standard in the industry through our use of modern and attractive store design, our innovative business model, quality branded products, industry training and group buying benefits.

This has enabled the group to achieve a competitive advantage in the Workwear and Safety sectors with total group sales continue to set records. Even in this new economic environment many of our stores are posting record sales and strong month by month growth from their mix of retail, Business to Business, National contracts and tender business sectors.

When you walk into a Hip Pocket Workwear & Safety store you can rest assured that the product sold and the service provided will be of the highest quality, allowing you to save time and money – at The Hip Pocket.

Think of a Business or Industry and we have a product to suit. What a Great Opportunity – What Great Business for Growth!

We don't just sell Workwear and Safety – we sell so much more – from corporate clothing, chef and hospitality, sporting clubs, schoolwear, promotional apparel and embroidery services. This is an exciting, dynamic business.

Quality and value

We search for quality products using our network of Australian and International manufacturers. As part of a national franchise chain, we have buyers constantly looking for products that give our customers the best quality and value. With well known and respected brands such as Hard Yakka, Jonsson Workwear, Stylecorp, Fashion Biz, Pro Choice, Husky, Oliver, Redback Boots and Mongrel Footwear, we have all our customer’s needs covered. We also manufacture our own range of quality products from ISO accredited factories.

The Industry

The Workwear and Safety industry is big business, with estimated annual sales in excess of $1 billion. Every business, tradie and Do-it-Yourself person is now covered by government legislation such as Occupational Health and Safety Act, Workplace Health and Safety Act, Risk Management and Australian Safety Standards, virtually all of which are mandatory (by varying degree) in all work place environments; from the work site, the farm and to the office.
